Yes. The nearby coastal locations all had 12'C as their lows. Umeå airport stuck out on the minimum map like a sore thumb.

Wow, hopefully not cold enough to kill anything off though. Right?

It gets harder each year to say around here. Fall seems to be getting warmer, while Spring colder. So frosts get pushed further into the Autumn, and Spring seems very erratic. The avg is early November, but who knows.

I'm fine with people having different opinions but this isn't a thread about what people want, it's about what you think is most likely to happen, and in that regard I don't think it's reasonable to "predict" that London will go the entire winter without a freeze.

Depends on what part of London. Central London can go an entire winter without dropping below 0C, as can other milder parts of the UK...

For outside Milan (the City Centre now has like a 4-5 °C UHI, so it gets sub-zero temperatures quite rarely, like fog, once really common in Po Valley...)
First frost: last days of October (last year it was like around the 10, with a 3° C minimum after the day before we had like a 23°C maximum, one of the biggest temperature swings I have ever seen here);
First freeze: around the 20th of November;
First day with sub-zero high: maybe in January or in February, we don't have them since the 2013-2014 winter, it has happened during last January that in the coldest days we had like 1° C/-8° C extremes but never an ice day, maybe with a very thick fog it could happen, but think fog nowdays even outside the City Centre is really rare unfortunately...
