I don't know why anybody would support Portugal, especially English people here!
Portugal won just 1 game all tournament, were boring to watch, have a cry baby superstar in their team, are known for their foul play and dirty players (Pepe, etc) (which helped to get us knocked out in the WC in 2006)
France have a nice young team, mostly likeable players and played some good stuff, plus if any country needs a lift it is them!
Guess who was the last team to beat both Portugal and France? England Oh and also Germany and Wales before the semi finals too. Shame we suck at tournament football! I really think it 24 teams made this tournament pretty boring to watch
I supported Portugal, purely because I wanted to see one of the greatest players of all time, and the man that has pretty much single handedly carried his team throughout this tournament, win his countries first ever trophy. It's the pinnacle of his career.
The French side will get better and challenge again, whereas this was Portugal's big chance.
People might moan about the dirty okay from Portugal, and other things that'd happened in previous tournaments, but none of that even comes close to what happened to ROI a few years back in Paris.
Also, I see the French have decided to make the most of the warm weather in Paris, and have themselves a riot to cheer themselves up. Setting cars and scooters on fire is one way to lift morale I guess.
