Wine here is actually really affordable, Ive seen bottles of wine for $7, and its not bad. The problem is going out, in Manhattan one shot can easily cost $7-8. Pregaming here is a must. I dont even like clubs here, you get either sugar daddy magnets or College Fratbro conventions. Bars are much better

I stock up on Ukrainian beer at the one store I can get it at. A little more expensive in comparison, but worth it.

Overall, beer prices aren't too unreasonable unless you're really into craft beer. I like to buy craft beers on occasion, but they can really get expensive.

Gotta say I'm not a very big fan of cider though. Too sweet.
An average 24 pack is twice that here. However Aldi does have 24 packs at $25-30 and 6 packs under $10.

Beer is taxed to s**t, yet wine is way cheaper despite the much higher alcho content. Like everything else in Australian politics, it does not make sense.

That's $35 AUD! Damn! Your 24 pack beers and Vodka sounds like it is cheaper than here though, but Vodkas come in a million varieties and prices. What does a bottle of Smirnoff cost?

In Aldi here, a bottle of wine can be as low as $2-3 As for going out, Manhattan sounds like Australia....

So that's the closest to "Hembränt" you've ever been?

Aldi sounds like Chile, where a bottle of wine is like $2-3, and they even sell carton wine for a bit more than a dollar even though it sounds kinda disgusting. Manhattan is like Australia on a tiny island. Ive lived in Brooklyn/Queens and going to Manhattan is still like going to another country pricewise. Its like Queens but everything costs 50% more

I should look into wine boxes. I'm not too sure what the typical price range is here because I've never bought one.

I'd rather drink cheap wine, of course. Expensive wine probably isn't ever worth it. The taste difference is probably mostly psychological. But some people prefer it because they've got more money than brains.

I guess, but I'd have to distill my wine for it to be hembränt, and then it wouldn't be legal anymore, although I've already thrown away that virtue whan I started storing thousands of magic mushroom in the same cabinet, which I, yet again, ironically don't really like eating either.

The cheapest beer in our supermarkets costs 0.30 euros per 500 ml. Rather disgusting but tolerable if you are broke.

Beer is horrible in calories, in taste, and in alcohol content. Unless you buy high class lager or stout there is no use in drinking beer
