They took the caffeine out of Four Loko before I turned 21.

Remember having one once in college... that night turned out of be a pretty epic one. Had a Four Loko followed by several beers as pregame. Then ended up going into town with my floormates and some visitors and drinking more. Somebody else bought some stuff and we smoked it out of an apple. Total snowpack that evening - college drinking seems more epic when it's cold and there's snow on the ground.
I had a few nights like that in college and while on vacation in Canada a few years ago (in January). Stumbling around drunk at 2AM in sub-freezing temperatures and snow everywhere. Good times.

Re calories, you have a point. Stout is good, certainly. The taste is one of the main things I like bout beer.

The only real downside to beer is the increased need to urinate. In certain venues, that's more of an issue than in others.

Speaking of which, Toronto is really the only MAJOR city I've ever walked around in totally smashed. There was a light snow cover on that occasion.

Perhaps our summers aren't that bad after all... but I guess I'd have to look at the coldest seven-day streak in July/August too which won't be that pretty Still feel like there's something to look forward to again! Merely considering the highs it was 27.1C for the warmest week of the year! That's incredible!

Amazing to think though that the place had a week with 30C averages in 2010 and a week with 29.9 avg high in 2014! For this latitude I guess this region is like a "tropical" hotbed!
Your summers aren't bad. They're just short, and the sun's strength is pretty weak.

Lol, the sun strength between North Wales and Central Sweden has absolutely no notifiable difference if not very close to the solstices.

Sun strength is quite reasonable for most areas near 50N at high summer, with values around 60 degrees +a above the horizon.

I'm not suggesting that sun strength down here is any stronger. It's also a weakness for us.

Wow that's expensive AF. Where do the cheapest wines come from usually?

As for me, I hate getting wasted on wine, even if it's often the cheapest option. I don't like drinking wine on its own actually, wine is made to compliment meals. Yeah that red wine is good, but I'll have a slice of that moldy cheese as well, thanks.
Really, to get wasted, nothing beats vodka. Pretty neutral taste, quite cheap for the alcohol content and pretty much no hangover.

I beg to differ!
