Totally. March is supposed to be a spring month, not just an extension of winter (which it usually is around here, and sometimes April as well).
That is good, low temperatures keep pollen and mold at bay. I've been up in the Northwoods in May with over a foot of snow on the ground.

Wow. Talk about a rapid warm up.

I went from 33 F at 8 PM last night to 41 F at 7 AM this morning. I've now busted above my forecast high of 59 F and may rise into the mid 60s this afternoon.

That's not how it works. Spring is a transitional season. Just because the calendar flips, doesn't mean the weather will. Anyone with such unrealistic expectations will always be disappointed.

It's a balmy 49F here. Quite windy, though. Rain is likely this evening. Back to subfreezing highs mid-week.

Dewpoints look quite low there atm despite the rising temperatures. High of only 24 F Thursday then back in the 50s over the weekend. Classic winter roller coaster.

2011 would be better, I think we have a mild jan/Feb then cold March and warm stormy april. Just speculation from looking at what happened in the springs following some of our winter analog years. Or it could be a cold April. Yuck...

I didn't say I expected March to be a full-on summer month. I don't expect five days in a row in the 80s (which happened in 2012 ), let alone the whole month. I just expect March to be significantly warmer than winter and rather springlike overall: highs regularly in the 50s, lows near or above freezing, and rain becoming the predominant form of precipitation. Expecting 80s in March would be like expecting highs in the low 60s in mid-July around here.
