Looks like my area after Sandy, trees were still coming down 1-2 weeks after the storm. And the trees that remained had very little leaves left or none at all, the landscape turned from vibrant green to nuclear winter in a matter of hours. No fall foliage that year.
Noticed that from the pics of rockport after harvey. Trees were bare!
Most places in the south having coldest september on record with anomalies pushing -10 in many spots. Cambium mind posting a map with station rankings?
-10?
That's pretty horrible, relatively speaking, even if it's still "warm". We're running about 4-5 degrees below normal here and it's pretty noticeable.

I don't think Montauk is chilly enough to kill a Windmill, the summers there are still warmer than their native habitat. Needles and Sabals might not thrive there, however.
Göle had a low of -0.5°C today, which was the lowest temperature recorded in Turkey today.
Göle had 5 below freezing lows in September so far. The lowest temperature in Göle was -2.7°C in September so far, which was 6 days ago.
Göle still couldn't completely get rid of Summer as it can be understood from its very warm highs during the daytime. Highs reach 26-27°C during the day time.
This is a weak La Nina not a blowtorch La Nina so I don't know what that model is thinking.
Models are now hinting at moderate to even strong La Nina
Could lead to this pattern for the winter
