I can't speak for Naples, and they got the eyewall so I'm sure it's worse over there, but because of the fact that most people in Miami are at least somewhat hurricane savvy there are less car "casualties" than you might expect. Not to say there aren't any though, the number of cars looking like this in the Miami area is probably in the thousands,
Due to out of control population growth, it would be the only good thing to come out of this hurricane if people in my area would stop dreaming of moving to Florida. I'm planning on using air B n B every winter for an escape instead of ever buying property there. Seeing what hassles and power outages people have to deal with why do they bother? Up here hurricanes just have no chance of ever being that strong due to cooler waters.
Don't the people there ever think about all the hassle they have to go thru in the Hurricane season and is it really worth it for three or four months of mild winter weather? They keep saying it is the price of paradise, but since when is that concrete jungle of condominiums paradise lol? Some of those folks are delusional and it is only going to get worse. The Mayor of Miami says his office looks out over Biscayne Bay and compared to 8 years ago he said that Bay is definitely higher every day than it was 8 years ago. It is not gonna be pretty down there in 10 to 20 years with that sea level coming up.

Some people just love the beaches, palm trees, and overall atmosphere. We (humans) love being near the water. The overbuilding and traffic will certainly make it a less pleasant place to live though. I would rather shoot down there for a few days in the winter if I'm craving some warmth and sunshine than own property. Why don't people consider retiring further inland like in Georgia or South Carolina? I know they can get hit by big storms, but you're relatively safe away from the coasts and still have relatively mild winters. Another popular destination is Arizona, but they have the opposite problem...lack of water lol.
75 F/24 C with a dewpoint of 69 F/21 C. I guess this counts as fall since it would be 85 degrees instead during the summer. This is why I don't get overly exciting for autumn in September since it still gets quite warm. I did get fooled though earlier this month lol.
