This is just wrong. I mean how much heat are they producing there? LOL DC reporting light drizzle/rain.

Will today finally be the day they have more snow than Atlanta and South Carolina????

Wanna see why there's a large spin like that?

Upper Low. And the Jet stream is forced down

Remember how it didn't look impressive yesterday? Look now. Temps at 5000'. Cold enough to support snow. Entire Eastern U.S filled in below freezing. Freezing line down to the south.

-2C over NYC.

Raleigh, NC getting light snow now. 850mb temps -2C

-4C over Pittsburgh.

That Upper Low will continue to generate instability snows and cold daytime temps

500mb height Pattern: Lighter Blues and Purples is where the strong Jet Stream Winds are.

33 and snowing lightly in Durham. But other than the grass turning just the slightest bit whiter, there's no accumulations.

Nothing here yet. Many are going to work, schools are closed though.. I hope this doesn't get bad where they get trapped on the roads later.. Hopefully they leave early. This timing stinks. Wish it started overnight.

Some totals so far. This was as of 10pm yesterday

Snow has picked up a little. Still, not much so far.

No problems with the commute to work this morning.
