More hot weather on the way for the PNW to end the month. It looks like Tri-Cities' average maximum for the month is going to end up somewhere around 36.5°C/98°F. Not bad for a place at the same latitude as Caribou, Maine.
2pm temps its 88F here and at both Chicago airports. Feels very sultry with the dew point at 75F. Could be seeing storms develop in Southern Wisconsin and hit parts of Northern Illinois tonight.
Adding(see below)to what could be an interesting night in the Great Lakes, I once witnesses the below rare phenomenon from 30 stories up in Chicago; the water suddenly rose covering all of Oak St. beach...then fell almost as quickly.
"Even if the main corridor of wind damage ends up to the north and east of the CWA, the forecast southeastward trajectory of the organized MCS potentially packing higher end wind gusts necessitates close monitoring of southern Lake Michigan water level monitoring for meteotsunami or seiche potential early Thursday morning. Finally, should the MCS become more west (or WNW) to east (or ENE) oriented, moisture and steering flow parameters support a localized flash flooding risk, though confidence was far too low for any Flash FloodWatch issuance."
Midway managed to reach 90 degrees today. My allergies have been awful for 3 weeks now. Feels very muggy out with a 75 degree dew point here. Took the kid and his cousins to the park but wedding stay long. Still not as bad as the 89F air temps with an 82 degree dew point down at Scott Air Force Base in Bellville with a heat index of 109F yikes!
We reached 91 today, dew was around 76f which made it feel extra nasty. 3 more days of this and then temps fall dramatically.
