7 inches just east of O'Hare. I wonder how much O'Hare has officially received?

Lake effect snow band shifting southward. Here is a look north of the Field Museum along Lakeshore Drive. Take it slow and prepare for slippery travel and reduced visibility near the Cook County lakeshore

GEFS looking better and better for next week's snow chances. Here is the 12z run. Let's hope this trend continues

Currently Here in DownEast, Maine...22F Degrees, Dew Point 15F Degrees, Winds NNW 2mph, Gusts 2mph, Cloudy!

Listening to the Album (ya I'm Old School), "Year of the Cat," by Al Stewart....
Seeking some peace after we went into Brewer and Bangor, to purchase a few items!
Constantly I'm reminded why we live so far away from the Cities..
Those are some negative vibs, folks and terrified looks from behind facemasks can be disturbing!
As a Caregiver, I have to avoid them (negative vibs),as much as I can!
I pour into those in need...
Mostly they are clients with dementia and I have to be full before I pour out!
So, upon returning home, I scooped a path to the bird feeder (as there is at least 6-8" of remaining snow and some drifts are up to 10" as the back of our old farmhouse faces the North), made sure the bird feeders were full (and there was plenty of suet cake), before I listened to Bernie (Thumping), Rayno, on AccuWeather!
Miss seeing him on Twitter, but I was booted off on January 6th...
Still, hoping (and yes, I do pray), it will go out to sea and we won't get a smack-down like Boston!
Although there is Blizzard Warnings, High Winds and the Kitchen Sink thrown in there...
I'm standing on no electrical outages nor accidents in our area!
Grateful for those who plow our driveway/dooryard here!
Monday, I will be out on the roads again...
Caring for those in need!

No snow but it is a bitter cold for this area in the south at 28° this morning. The long range says we have just 2 more nights of freezing temps and then spring weather.

Looks like we're predicted to get about 20mm of liquid equivalent precipitation here. I'm not too optimistic about avoiding rain but hopefully we get at least some snow as temperatures drop (and not too much freezing rain)...

The storm "Kenan" was a real nothing-burger here. Maybe 5".

Currently here in Downeast, Maine, 8F Degrees, Dewpoint 5F Degrees, Winds North 12mph, Gusts 30mph, White-out, Pressure 29.92 and Dropping

There is a point in a Blizzard where everything looses it's color....
The view becomes black and white!
With varying shades of gray...
Even the Sapphire-colored Blue Jays, have lost their color!
and are now silhouetted, shadow-shapes....
as are the Birch trees in the Meadows are indistinct!
