Yes, I should have clarified, unprecedented for this time of year, but they do often see Dust Storm Warning and High Wind Warning criteria during various portions of a year.

Winter 2021/2022 weather discussion thread(Northern Hemisphere)-december-tornado-touchdown-conus-grid.jpg

I'm sure this major tornado and severe wind event in a region that hasn't seen such weather in December in all of human history immediately following another unprecedented December tornado outbreak is nothing about which to be concerned. Everything is normal. The atmosphere is not collapsing in on itself. War is peace. Ignorance is strength. There are no faces.

Wow The Quad Cities out in Northwestern Illinois hit 75 degrees Rockford hit 69 today. ORD 65F MDW 66F and I hit 63F. My sinuses are awful.

These winds out in the Central Plains are no joke.

I bet I'll lose power at some point tonight. Storms however will not be severe

Cold air is taking it's time coming down from Canada. At some point the dam will burst. Question is when.

CFSv2 is saying once we get into the new year I'll begin to start seeing below average temps. That Southern Ridge is looking quite suppressed on this run from the CFSV2 basically most significant positive anomalies are in Texas and the Deep South

Bank on them maps. FL is always above normal on temps and below normal on rain every winter. Nothing new but the new normal. A nasty 84f in Tampa today.

Boring... warm tomorrow, cold Monday. No snow still, no sustained warmth, no sustained cold.

Both GFS and Euro are agreeing on a nasty cold wave crushing western Russia and Ukraine from the start of the next week. We're talking to maxs even down to the -20C for Moscow
Wouldn't surprise me. Whenever they are onto war tensions the brutal winters always ally with Russia
