I’m with venture on that. I’d like to be optimistic but like all things familiar, including some relatives so called “promises”, I’m not going to believe it until I see it.
It is unbelievable with a population base as large as Jefferson County they don't have a movie theater. I would think in that location a few more stores and restaurants would be easy to attract to the area. If they could attract something not in surrounding areas it could be a game changer for that shopping center. The type of theater they are talking about would be a good start but this company doesn't seem to reliable.
You can blame the local government/politicians- they are placing 'roadblocks' that are hindering development-growth-expansion-retail in the area. Most likely because the want the area to remain the way it is (keep the massive development in the surrounding areas not in our backyard.)
As a result a lot of the growth is in Berkeley County next door. I hear it all the time from the locals. (Wasn't Marshalls supposedly coming to Ranson?! Not anymore. Someone scared them off.)
The eye opener for me was when the Commons next to interstate 81 was built. Many of the stores that went into that shopping center had considered building in the PTC. So did Golden Corral. It was supposed to go in next to Chick-fil-a. Instead they decided to build their restaurant behind the Martinsburg Mall.
Ranson, WV circa 2018 DOES NOT look much different than Ranson, WV did in 2008. As many of you know I got tired of waiting for this type of growth in Jefferson County and moved back to 'civilization' a few years ago.
You can control growth in certain areas but stopping growth all together eventually leads to your demise. You have to have conveniences or eventually people move to where they are. Traveling to many neighboring areas during peak hours can be a major hassle with traffic and time wasted and providing those conveniences in Jefferson County isn't going to change much of anything except make those living here life easier.

It would be nice if they put in a theatre there since, I believe the one over on Foxcroft recently closed. It looked like it has closed anyway. People like their brewskis. Maybe something different, like a draft house cinema setting. Yes, I know there's an Alamo in Winchester and in the Loudoun/Leesburg, Virginia areas. As it was just mentioned, it would be nice to keep the $$$ local and perhaps not need to make the 30 mins or so drive. The bowling center was also closed in Jefferson County. Any chance of getting a new one or some other similar fun center like the one up in the Apple Valley Mall in Hagerstown, Md?
I personally think it will be great for our area which lacks basic entertainment. Looks like it will be a movie theater with possibly IMAX screen, bowling, arcade and full bar and restaurant in one.

I would love for this to happen. It goes without saying this would definitely create what I call the "Cabela's effect". Other chains (specifically food and retail) will start buying up land around the property.
Smart location. They'll catch commuters and those coming in for the casino/hotels.
