Publix Pharmacy #1586's pharmacy permit was issued last week by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.

Publix #1586 should be opening soon. An opening date has not been announced yet.

Went there today with a couple of friends; very nice store, well laid out. The employees were well trained, nice friendly people, and helpful. The store was very busy at around 4:00 pm. We all took a basket and left with about a half basket of odds and ends. The deli, bread, bakery, and meat/fish department is fantastic. I'd say their prices are on a par with Harris Teeter, but the selection is awesome at Publix. It is a larger store than HT, and I really like the size of HT better, however. We were impressed with the pharmacy dept., it's like a mini drug store. Huge selection of many brands, and I would buy things I need in the pharmacy dept. if I was in the store to do a large shopping.

All in all, I'd give Publix an A+ and will shop there , but probably not on a regular basis. Another good point about Publix is that you don't need one of those silly plastic 'cards' which other markets require.
