Where'd they get $200? I make a lot more than they could ever get in any food stamps, welfare, etc., and I can't afford Air Jordans. Give me the secret.

Out of, say, 10 families that you know that live on welfare, how many have $1000 flat screens? I'm honestly curious.

The majority (more than 60%)have SUV's less than 5yrs old-their kids attend the same school as mine and the majority wear designer logo clothes and expensive shoes-the parents aren't dressed to shabby either-plenty of flatscreens around given that nearly every week you see an old style tv put out on the curb for pick up. And here's me paying for everything myself and dressing my kids in Target clothes!

BTW-the USA has a great quality of life for the average person-I live it everyday! Australia's quality of live is good too-just getting too expensive compared to the USA

Explain to me how they accomplish this, so I (with a salary far superior to welfare) can accomplish this.

Thanks!

Also, have you read any articles or seen any of the stats on the dwindling middle class in the U.S. since 1980, or you haven't had a chance yet?

If you meet the guidelines around here you get free breakfast and lunch at school-all the kids sport fees and bus fees get paid for by the state/town-they also get health insurance and some form of dental at low cost-I on the other hand pay for all this myself- thats my take anyhow

I must say Singapore, due to their draconian laws. I'd live in fear I'd get arrested for something like bad mouthing an executioner.

You just walk down to the local bank and ask for the money

But I'm not a child. I'm a grown-up. I can't get free breakfast and lunch at a school, nor do I need school sports fees paid, nor do I ride the bus. I have a car, and my health insurance and dental are paid by my employer.

So that STILL won't get me my Air Jordans.

I don't see how giving kids breakfast and lunch can get anyone Air Jordans, particularly when what they're receiving is a welfare check. I looked up an average welfare check is horrifically low. So I'm still utterly confused about the $200 Air Jordans.
