Given the fact that over 50% of people now are unemployed, and we rank 175 out of 195 countries in terms of healthcare, I don't know, what do you think?
And both parties now are essentially the same? Both don't have a backbone, and bend over every time to wallstreet?
And nobody seems to give a **** about homeless people? And they're growing in numbers. And news channels pretend to care, only during Thanksgiving time (just so they can brag or pretend they're somewhat decent).
I DO love one thing about the U.S.- the diversity here. I love meeting people of all races, all ethnicities, all age groups. I love that sense of bonding.
Yowzers. 50% unemployment and worst healthcare than 175 countries (including half of Africa)? Talk about fake news!
By most measures it is not. Neither is my country by the way.
I had a quick look at rankings from a wide range of international sources by country based on freedom, GDP, heaths systems, obesity, drug addiction, violent crime, higher education, obesity, happiness, suicide rates and much more. The US is not the number one in any(!) of these rankings.
Doesn't mean it's a bad country. It does have its major flaws though and is far from perfect. Being able to see and admit this does not mean one isn't a patriot. It just means one isn't an idiot.
oh, and before anyone objects to my use of wikipedia. Wikipedia is not the source of the data. Each linked article has plenty of citations including the original data sources.
If a good place or great place (country) is measured by the lack of negative components... that by itself doesn't make it "better"... just less 'bad'.
I'm bias towards the United States and Canada since these nations offer the most opportunities for my life style as an outdoors-man. I'd probably like Siberia too, but Canada and the US provides me with everything this boy needs.
rthe US has some of my favorite places (Appalachians/Blue Mountains, New England, PNW) and some of my least favorite areas (FL, Deep South, Plains, Rust Belt Cities). the US can easily be the best place in the world for some or the worst place in the developed world depending on where you live.
Nor is she malignant. What you call enforcement is actually influence. A nation that leads acts like guard rails on a highway... however one that wants control the traffic takes over the driving.
Our influence is one of inalienable right and liberation of thought and deeds. A noble endeavor for sure, but one that is easy detoured internally and externally who want control.
The idea of expanded opportunities is universally loved and sought after by people all over the globe and often denied and controlled by governments.
No! It used to be in the past though, but not now, way too many problems, plus they still haven’t managed to give all of their citizens universal health insurance, which is a huge strike against it.
