my ozark mountain

the campfire crackles as it burns
the sunset makes a beautiful backdrop
to the end of a wonderful day.
As a kaleidoscope of colors swirl o'er head
an owl hoots, a coyote howls,
the sounds of the night descend.
as the moon rises above the treetops,
the colors slowly fade to black.
one by one the stars fill the sky.
the campfire dies.
Morning dawns with nature's sounds.
the whippoorwill's song resounds through the tree,
butterflies flit from flower to flower.
birds serenade me with joyous song.
atop my ozark mountain.
the quiet peace i feel when there
soothes my troubled soul.
God lives on my mountain
along the gorge the water trickles,
the waterfall does not flow
for lack of rain
but yet there is beauty everywhere.
i see the tracks left by deer,
turkeys have been here too.
a tiny lizard with bright blue tail
runs in and out of the woodpile.
i see walking sticks and praying mantis
oh the wonders of nature.
how blessed i am to be here
on my ozark mountain.
God lives on my mountain.

Wow, I was just told of this thread and had to check it out. I wanted a place to share my poetry. How talented all of you are.
Radek, I love your poetry. The majority of my poetry was written while I was depressed but it was a way to work myself through my troubles. For the longest time it seemed that was the only time I could write. Now as you can see from my poem above. I can also write when I am happy!!
The artwork is amazing too.
What a great thread.

Default Autumn

Here is a painting I did. But, since we are in the process of moving from IN to Missouri all my painting supplies are in boxes somewhere. Can't wait to find them and start painting again.

Mamagator!! Great stuff! I'm so glad word is getting around. You can never have enough imagination and creativity in your life. Welcome. Bunky, your stuff is always beautiful. Well here's my latest, I hope you enjoy.

WHEN I WAKE UP FROM THE DREAM

Try to focus on a memory
Flawless like a seam
In a partly waking torment
Partly blissful fleeting dream

Wrapped in a misty haze
Impossible to clear
The touch still brings a shiver
Like a moment held near

Playing constantly on repeat
Never off my mind
Like listening to a blues song
Of the melancholy kind

Living in my reality
Wishing in the way
Clouds obscure the clearness
Of a bright sunny day

Tears obstructing vision
Yet bringing on a smile
Stopping it from fading
Further with every mile

Sealed inside my heart
Willing sadness away
Waiting, wanting, needing
Worse with everyday

Grasping at shadows
Trying to believe
If I can clear the fog
You will never leave

Conversing only to myself
Until it really seems
I’ll be lying in your arms when
I wake up from the dream
