"SO"! It has replaced "and uh"! Professionals, the media, you name it....STOP STARTING EVERY SENTENCE WITH "So, blah blah blah" SO DOESN'T BELONG AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR SENTENCE!!!!

Thank you very much! Whew, I'm glad I got that out of my system.

That one makes me think of the Beverly Hillbillies and their CEE-ment pond (swimming pool) behind their house. They stocked it with fish, but then some guy came along and poured poison into it.

Drives me nuts, I'm 58 and back in school the teachers would nail us for that one. YET, I still hear it every day in Pittsburgh.

I like a word of my own invention, "dyswhacked".

Still, they all have their own shades of meaning.

Yes, I was a synonymy in a previous life, why do you ask?

One of my made-up words became widespread: People would say "Speaking thereof" or "Speaking of which" ... back in 1972 or so I miscegenated them to produce "Speaking therewhich". The phrase spread outward from Montana State University in Bozeman, and years later I started hearing it in other states as well. So if you hear that phrase and hate it, it's all my fault.
