"Jealousy and Nativity"
If you stretch this one I guess there was a certain amount of naivete involved in the nativity.
I think that it is often difficult to imagine what somebody actually meant to write when you see something like that strange quote, "jealousy and nativity", but...here is another possibility:
Instead of, "naivete", it is just possible that this person was trying to use the word, "negativity"!
Looking at the context, it seems that, "negativity", might be more appropriate than, "naivete". However, this is just a guess.
In any event, I just find it depressing to see how many people are apparently unable to express themselves properly in their native language.
Yesterday I read a newspaper article that mixed up "ancestor" and "descendant", more than once.
If you think that ancestor/descendant confusion is bad, how about an article that I read recently (about large manor-type homes/"castles" in NJ) that consistently referred to the, "dinning rooms", in those homes?
Not knowing the difference between ancestors and descendants, and not knowing how to spell, "dining room", really makes me wonder about the educational credentials of some of the folks being hired nowadays to work for newspapers.

If any of you have an old copy of "Gorillas in the Mist" lying around, go get it and read the very last page. I don't have a copy and I read it a long time ago, but I clearly remember being astonished that the word "ancestors" was used when clearly it should have been "descendants". (Or maybe it was the other way around, but I don't think so.)
In my next life I want to be an editor or a proof reader I'm currently reading the "Fifty Shades" trilogy. It's trash, but I can't put it down. I keep thinking that I would LOVE to re-write the entire series because it's so poorly written and edited.

Ha. That book, which I haven't read, was mentioned at a self-publishing seminar held by my writer's group as an example of how aggressive marketing can getca badly-written book sold.
