Discussed: Observed raw chicken delivered recently to facility was not immediately placed in cold storage. Ensure products are placed in the cooler immediately. When preparing raw chicken (cleaning, cutting, etc) only pull from the refrigerator small portions to be prepared - do not pull out all the chicken and then let it sit at room temperature for extended periods.

To prevent the growth of bacteria that may cause food borne illness, always keep TCS foods at 41 deg F or below or 135 deg F or above. Products were discarded during the inspection.
VIII. Date Marking/Time as a Public Health Control (-) Observed products in walk-in cooler were not date marked. PIC was aware of date marking and that the products may only be kept for 7 days. To ensure products do not grow bacteria to levels that may cause foodborne illness, TCS foods prepared in facility may be kept for 7 days. Will follow-up to ensure date marking is being done properly.

Observed curd rice at 41 deg F; all products in walk-in cooler properly date marked; ice machine has been cleaned; no rice found holding below 135 deg F.
11:50 AM met van from Chutnys on N Pearl St between E Chestnut and E Locust behind 280 Nationwide with Meredith Lawler. Meredith got in line behind the van where lunches were being passed out. She asked if there were any extra lunches or if she had to place an order. The gentleman selling food told her there were no extras and she had to place an order.
Called complaintant back to tell him what happened and that he was not selling illegally today.
Complaint closed
Went with Mike Thiel to Pearl St. to try to buy food from unlicensed van. Person selling food stated that you had to have an order to buy the food.

Inspection prompted due to complaints of 4 people becoming ill after eating lunch at facility. Complaints stated that patrons became ill 45 minutes after eating at facility. At time of inspection no evidence of chemical contamination was found. Spoke with PIC Ravi about employees being ill and proper food preparation. No employees ill on day that patrons ate at facility. Buffet temperatures were all in proper range. See standard inspection for violations found. At time of inspection, complaint could not be confirmed or denied.
