Description: Louisville’s premier black-tie gala for the gay and lesbian community, the Beaux Arts Ball is held yearly on the second Saturday in October, and most recently it’s been held at the elegant Louisville Marriott Downtown. The evening starts with a host bar and is followed by a four-course meal with complimentary wine, and there’s lots of music and entertainment. The night ends by dancing the night away to a mix of current hits and classic favorites, and a silent auction provides a chance to bid on an assortment of treasures. Tickets cost $150 per person and all proceeds go to VOICES of Kentuckiana, the area’s only all-inclusive chorus, and the Care Coordinator Program of the Volunteers of America, an agency that assists local families living with HIV/AIDS.
