Description: To look at the modern, concrete building that houses Spencerian College today, you wouldn’t think that its roots go back very far. However, this vocationally centered school goes back to the 1890s. Spencerian offers education only for those careers that are in demand, and students can pursue certificate, diploma, or associate degrees in a variety of concentrations, including health sciences, business, graphic design, computer-aided design, and more. Unique features of study at Spencerian include programs taught in quarters, a career-first curriculum where students take only the classes needed for their professions, and a four-day school week, with Friday set aside as the “plus” day for meetings with professors, studying, or relaxing. In addition, accelerated day and evening programs allow learners to work while pursuing an education, and the school offers lifetime, nationwide employment services that help graduates to prepare for interviews and find employment. Graduates may also audit free of charge classes previously taken at any point in their careers.
