Description: Open daily till 4 a.m., the Hideaway is a Highlands venue popular for its live artists and intimate, friendly setting. Cover charges during the week are usually $2 or $3 for a range of local bands, and, depending on who’s playing on weekends, $5 will usually get you in. It’s popular with the musician set because the bands always get to keep all of the door money. It’s also somewhat of a shrine to high-quality brews, because on tap at the Hideaway is a great variety of good craft and imported beers, such as Blue Moon and Sierra Nevada ($3.50), and local favorites like BBC Bourbon Barrel Stout and Browning’s She-Devil IPA ($5). There are also selections from Cumberland Brews, Bell’s, Magic Hat, Smithwick’s, Guinness, Newcastle, and Flying Dog ($4). Woodchuck hard apple cider is also on tap. Happy hour is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, when all beers are $1 off. Pool is available upstairs.
