Description: Open every night for dinner, Morton’s is part of a chain, with dozens of high-end steakhouses across the country. Morton’s Restaurant Group, the world’s largest owner and operator of company-owned upscale restaurants, also has locations in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore. The company operates Bertolini’s Authentic Trattoria and Trevi in addition to the Morton’s Steakhouse concepts. The Louisville location is downtown in the heart of Museum Row, and it’s a popular destination because of its clubby atmosphere and inviting bar.Among other things, Morton’s is known for serving prime beef, sourced from a meat packer in Chicago, the birthplace of Morton’s. The beef is aged on location for several weeks and then cooked to order in an 800-degree broiler for service. Cuts offered include porterhouse, filet mignon, New York strips, bone-in rib eyes, and prime ribs. Besides the printed menu, Morton’s offers a visually presented menu whereby the server rolls a cart to the table and presents each item with a detailed description of how it’s prepared. This is also when the server asks diners if they would like to order one of the signature desserts, like the soufflés that require advance notice for preparation.
