Description: A perennial darling on the Louisville dining scene, Ramsi’s Café on the World serves up a dizzying assortment of dishes drawing on culinary influences from all corners of the globe. The interior decor is as eclectic as the menu, where you’ll find much-loved standards such as pollo nuevo havana, tortellini graciela, empress chicken, and lamb biryani. Other favorites—many of which are vegan or vegetarian—include the cubean burrito and Greek salad. Open late, Ramsi’s has moderate prices that often attract a bustling crowd as diverse as the Highlands neighborhood where it is located. Don’t try to make a reservation, though, because they don’t take them at Ramsi’s. Instead, show up and put your name on the list; if there’s a wait—and during busy nights, there often is—head next door and browse the selection at Carmichael’s Books. Ramsi’s opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
