Description: If you’re driving into Louisville from the west on I-64 or crossing the river on I-65, you’ll probably spot a distinctive building near the water. Up close, it appears to be covered in random-colored tiles, but the farther away you get, the easier it is to see the images of Muhammad Ali. Inspired by the ideals and vision of Muhammad Ali, its founder and Louisville’s native son, this downtown stop counts as both a cultural attraction and an international education center. Two and half levels of engrossing multimedia presentations and interactive exhibits immerse participants in a hands-on look at the Champ’s life and the core values he still strives to observe today: respect, confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, and spirituality. Open till 5 p.m. every day except Monday, the Muhammad Ali Center charges $9 for general admission.
