Description: The Saltdogs are an independent minor league baseball team that shares Lincoln’s Haymarket Park with the Cornhusker baseball team. The Saltdogs, like all independent teams, are not affiliated with a major-league club. That means that Saltdogs players have no clear path to the big leagues—these players are playing because they love baseball, not because of any future multimillion dollar contract. The skill on the field isn’t bad, Haymarket Park is charming, and the best part about the Saltdogs game is the cost—you’ll be hard-pressed to find a cheaper option in Lincoln.
