Description: This is a traveling company that performs all over Long Island, from Brooklyn to Montauk, and from Glen Cove to Long Beach. It was founded in 1954 and is one of America’s oldest organizations devoted almost exclusively to performing the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. While the performances are highly professional, the performers are all volunteers and come from all walks of life. Since its inception, the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company has performed the entire series of Gilbert and Sullivan operas. The performances are all accompanied by an 18-piece ensemble orchestra.

People of all ages are invited to attend Bay Stage concerts and shows; however, everyone over the age of two must have their own ticket. Seating is available around the Bay Stage, which does not offer open space for blankets or folding chairs. Not all shows presented at this venue, particularly the rock shows, are suitable for kids.
