Comments:
Corrections noted from last inspection: backflow device installed on faucet with hose connected. Wood has been sealed. Proper test kit for quat is available.

- 0450 - Corrected During Inspection Critical Gloves not worn when handling waffle cones.
No bare hand contact allowed for ready to eat foods. Gloves are available. Worker put gloves on to continue. - 0480 - Corrected During Inspection Unlabeled white crystals, powder.
Identify. - 0650 - Uncovered ice cream pies in self service display freezer.
Protect pies. - 2000 - Clean ice cream buckets are not turned upside down to keep clean during storage.
Protect. - 1060 - Bare wood on shelf in back and wood support up front.
Seal for cleanability. - 2260 - Critical Hose is attached to water supply.
Install a backflow preventor to completely eliminate any problems that may arise with hose to and from ice cream freezer. - 3180 - Ceiling panels in back are stained.
Replace. - 2790 - Ceiling panels throughout are not smooth and easily cleanable.
When they become dirty or stained, replace with smooth faced vinyl panels.
I recommend using pasteurized eggs for waffle batter. Waffle batter (once made) is a potentially hazardous food. Maintain at 41 degrees or below.

Have employees wear gloves or only use utensils to handle RTE foods. Be sure to wash hands between tasks.
Comments:
Investigation of complaint alleging that on 4/23/06 observed female employee handling brownie with bare hands, wiped hands on jeans, took money, then finished preparing sundae; complainant asked about glvoes and was told they don't use them. During inspection spoke with owner who was aware of situation. Explained they do not use gloves, they wash hands frequently. Advised must use gloves for handling foods.

Use cup with cover & straw to avoid contamination of hands or wash hands after consuming beverage from open cup. Corrected. - 0450 - Critical Employee cutting cookie dough pieces for use in ice cream mix was using bare hands to hold pieces in place.
Use gloves to prevent bare hand contact with food that will not be cooked before serving. Corrected.
