Halifax: historic church Halifax: This beautiful photo of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church was taken on Dec 26, 2010 on our way to my first trip to Williamsburg, Va the day after Christmas 2010. The whole town of Halifax was snowed under but because of our 4 wheel drive truck we were able to ride through this gorgeous town. I had never seen snow & was so excited. It was the most beautiful town I'd ever seen. In fact I have about 10-12 pictures that I have displayed on my computer. As the saying goes, they are all Halifax: This photo was taken on Dec 26, 2010 the day after the heavy snow storm. The whole town was beautiful that day. Halifax: Old Tavern

User submitted facts and corrections:

  • Add fact: "historical church" was told to me to be called "The Immaculate Conception Church" on main street, and was cared for by Miss Nannie Gary as best she could. The church was built as answer to prayer. Would be helpful for viewers to know name of church. I lived 3 houses down from it during my youth. Was only Catholic Church in county for years. Check Catholic Newspaper archives for interview by (still living) Nancy West.
