Marty, show me a SINGLE Democratic politician in Congress who said anything of the kind that Michelle Bachmann did. Show me a Democratic candidate who espoused "Second Amendment" solutions like Tea Party darling and Palin protege Sharron Angle did.

Once again: Climate of Hate by Paul Krugman. Telling it like it is.

The nine year old victim's father does not want to see restrictions on free speech result out of this mess.

Neither do I, which of course has been my point here.

The extreme left always seems to be calling for new laws every time something like this happens, for someone to be "arrested", without knowing or caring that the Constitutional amendments that would have to take place before that could happen would set dangerous precedents for all of us.

Met, the extreme Left can rant all it wants, but other than sloganeering it has no real power. The 'mainstream' Left has not called for any curbs on free speech. Whereas the extreme Right now has hijacked the GOP and is driving its agenda. Important difference.

Is the extreme right calling for restriction of free speech?

Here you go. The extreme rhetoric should stop here | RedState

This is just a little but you could go into more.

The thing is that people on the extreme left and right fringes interpret the other side's rhetoric with their own "fringy glasses". They each read a lot more into the metaphors than the other side really means.

Do crazy people look at this rhetoric and sometimes interpret it as a code to go commit violence? Yes...sometimes crazy people do that. Sorry, we don't live in a utopian world and we never will. Short of locking up anyone that makes us a little scary thats a risk we will all have to live with.

It's all the calls for restriction of free speech that scares me. I don't want to live in a society that can lock someone up for what the party in power determines is "hate speech" .

The extreme left and the extreme right are both to blame for the divisiveness that is tearing this country apart. They are the ones who hang on Palin et al's every word, giving her and others the platform that they admittedly misuse.

Forcing their world view on my schools, womb, totally ignoring history and FACTUAL data...then topping it off by flat out lying on a daily basis in the greatest propaganda machine via media resources this country has ever experienced. Then for a little icing on the cake, habitually name calling ect of any one who dares to ask "what ever happened to the real GOP, the Grand Old Party?"
