Yeah the clouds are already here. In fact, there is a blizzard watch out to the Girdwood area.

I just got two emails. One with a job offer in Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta and the other from a friend with the most awesome pictures of Northern Lights from Yellow Knife, Yukon, Canada. Given that there are trees in the pictures, I'm guessing this area is not close to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta in Alaska. The last picture is a rare picture of a 'fire rainbow' which are very rare. I'll post what the email said about it after the images. I don't know how to make the font smaller on this forum.
image001.jpg (16.0 KB), image002.jpg (17.7 KB), image003.jpg (17.7 KB), image004.jpg (16.8 KB), image005.jpg (18.9 KB), image006.jpg (26.9 KB), image007.jpg (13.2 KB), image008.jpg (23.2 KB), image009.jpg (41.8 KB)
THIS NEXT PICTURE, IS A FIRE RAINBOW - THE RAREST OF ALL NATURALLY OCCURRING ATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENA.
THE PICTURE WAS CAPTURED THIS WEEK ON THE WASHINGTON BORDER. THE EVENT LASTED ABOUT 1 HOUR.
CLOUDS HAVE TO BE CIRRUS, AT LEAST 20.000 FEET IN THE AIR, WITH JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ICE CRYSTALS AND THE SUN HAS TO HIT THE CLOUDS AT PRECISELY 58 DEGREES.

So, what do you think of YKHC? They are based here. Coming to Bethel?

Well, I checked it out on line and it does sound interesting. I do have a three month contract here with the option to extend to six months. I am definitely interested as it is totally different (from what I read on line) from SE Alaska. But, one thing I do know, I don't think I'll want to be riding bike in the snow!
Yeah, I know. I'm a wuz.

Merry Christmas everybody.
Anybody has a tree outside in the snow with all the lights on?
Love all the pictures here. I don't post much but I do look at all the wonderful pictures. I have a different background on my monitor just about every day, sometimes twice/day thanks to you guys.
Have a wonderful 2009!

That sucks...I used to bend wrenches on that airplane back at the "old" Yute Air...at that time it was the highest time 207 operating in the world and had never had a serious accident. It was acutally a pretty nice place, ugly paint (it wasn't Yute Yellow then...but I don't like Yute Yellow either).
Glad to hear everyone is okay but sad to see another 207 gone.
