I hope that you don't think fleeing the country is going to get you out of paying child support. It will get you extradited back to the US and in prison for a bit though...

I do feel bad and don't think it is right for the guy that was a sperm donor and has to pay child support, because the Lesbian couple broke up and one of them applied for welfare. He signed away all his rights to the kid, but the state is still going after him for support. The reasoning is the couple didn't have money to go to a fertility doctor, so he just gave a sample and they did the fertilizing themselves. Courts opinion was that how do they know they didn't have sex. Apparently, the difference is the method of getting pregnant. He lost round 1 in court... Waiting for round 2 (Court of appeals)

Looking at an old chart circa 2005, Alaska was #3 for receiving more money from the Federal Government than it receives. It doesn't mean that AK can't survive on its own, just means that right now it is getting more than it gives as most red states in 2005 did. 'Red State Socialism' graphic says GOP-leaning states get lion's share of federal dollars | PolitiFact

Just to be clear the Federal Government own 62% of all the land mass in Alaska.

You would have to leave the country under the umbrella of a company and continue to pay court ordered amounts until you have the requisite time in (or get married over seas) to apply for citizenship. Once you are a citizen of another country (especially one that is not friendly to the one world order of the USA) then you stop payments. You cant be deported to a country you are no longer a citizen of.

Ultimatly its not just about the money but about your datability with other women while having at least a quarter of your income chewed up along with baby momma drama. If you can get alot of women to sleep with you while in that sitaution then it might be ok but if not its time to go. If I hate my life enough to want to kill myself then its no big loss to leave.

Also if your an expat over seas even if your not a citizen of said nation you may be able to petition your company or the country your in to modify how much your paying, they may not make you pay the full court ordered amount to keep you from being deported, it gets very complicated when your an expat especially if they know your activly seeking citizenship.

If there are really "thousands of signatures," they are the signatures of other people who think it is funny. That should be the story, if there is a story at all, because the Fox News headline misrepresents reality and most people only read headlines.
At last, another voice of reason.

Like oil, fish, and timber?

All three of them are being rapidly depleted.

Besides, without the federal government, who would protect Alaska?

The Alaska Militia?

Please.

I hope you have a "plan B".

Just think if enough of us donate some miles to getting him a one way last class thicket to Crimea we could be rid of him but it is for sure some of us would feel sorry for his children because even a no good father is still a father. I noted a couple of days ago they had an original "Rosie the Riveter" on the news. I recall seeing some of those signs back during the War and I developed a way of looking at women that didn't include "They couldn't do a man's job". The motto on those signs was "We Can Do It." and they proved it by how many men they replaced making equipment that contributed in every way to winning that War. Just thinking about his way of complaining it is certain he doesn't know how to treat anyone certainly not a woman respectfully. It's amazing how someone with a bad enough attitude can't find anyone on his side.

Sure; there's enough minerals out in Bristol Bay to last for awhile. And there are plenty of trees left in the Tongass that haven't been chopped down yet (qualifier-- that was meant fairly sardonically). Don't know much about oil, but last year was the biggest fish year that Alaska's ever seen.

Neither salmon or timber ever was an Alaska-specific resource, by the way. Alaska's actually done a good job of maintaining salmon stocks in most of the state, though, so I have no reason to think they couldn't do the same with other resources that are now federally managed.

By the way, it's not my "plan" or something I'm advocating. The point is simply that there are a lot of natural resources left in those federally owned lands that could serve as an economic base for a long time, mainly minerals.

Women built most of the planes used in WWII. It was women manning the manufacturing plants because the men were at war. It was also women pilots flying domestic routes for mail, shipping, and delivering new planes to military bases all over. Women were also working as test pilots.

It's fascinating what private sector companies managed to provide employees, especially women, so their employees could work without distractions. Those companies were churning out planes, tanks, jeeps, weapons, and everything else soldiers, sailors, and pilots used. Aircraft factories were running 24 hours a day.

Manufacturers provided onsite day cares, medical clinics, financial help, chaplains, and more. Heck, they even provided weddings and ran interference with loan sharks for their employees! Anything to keep people on the job so they could keep manufacturing round the clock.

Those manufacturers made so much money they grew into huge corporations. After the war, factories switched to manufacturing consumer goods and were still pumping product out into what soon was a booming economy. Yet, as soon as the war was over, all of a sudden employers refused to offer even childcare benefits so that women could hold jobs outside the home, whining that it is too expensive. They still do. They could do it then, and still grow rich, but they couldn't do it after. Uh huh. Sure.
