I finally broke the blue wax seal and opened the bottle. Shared a drink with my son, grandson and my wife. Worth waiting for the experience of sharing a 400.00 bottle of heaven!!

Evan Williams 23 Year Old Bourbon is still the best I have ever tasted. Exclusive Bottling | Heaven Hill | Bourbon Heritage Center

I am still waiting to find and taste Pappy Van Winkle

For a VERY unique bourbon experience, try Knob Creek's Smoked Maple. Its different, for sure.

Did 4 more distilleries this weekend.

Town Branch, Woodford Reserve Wild Turkey and Four Roses..All around Frankfort and Lexington. (Last trip was Buffalo Trace --not on trail--,Heaven Hill, Maker's Mark and Jim Beam)...Woodford was the best tour, Maker's Mark was quaint and beautiful and Heaven Hill was most expensive..I bought the 23 Year Old Evan Williams.

We weren't impressed by either Wild Turkey and Four Roses

Cant wait until we complete the tour in the spring.

We also stopped at one of the craft distilleries http://kybourbontrail.com/craft-tour/ in Lexington Barrel House Distilling Company. It was very small, a tiny still and a very nice vodka and dark Moonshine. (They won't have their bourbon for several more years)

Take the trails, you'll love them. (Plus several great restaurants--What a weekend)

I have a question, if someone wouldn't mind answering.

I used to be able to drink liquor in my young days.
Doesn't agree with me a whole lot anymore.

My question is....
Does a great quality liqour ie: bourbon or whiskey not leave you feeling so icky?

If so...
What is a good brand that isn't terribly expensive?
I don't mind paying more to enjoy a good bourbon or whiskey.
I just don't have the fundage to pay a really high price.
Somewhere in the middle.

Thanks!

What do you mean by "icky"? Hungover, or do you feel sick after just a glass, or? Also, what are you drinking now?

Icky by hung over feeling even if its only 2 not strong drinks

I am not drinking any bourbon or whiskey now cause of that.
I drink wine and beer.

I do really like Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.
Beer that's made in wooden bourbon casks.
