But its ok to slaughter animals. Of course you would think it would be okay to hurt human beings, so hypocritical of you.

But why is not OK to slaughter animals???
If you don't like it, you can don't do it or even consume the animals...
BUT it will be wrong to impose what YOU personally don't eat unto someone who does.
(YOU can don't eat for all I care, "MORE" for me... idea = great idea actually).

Yes, its OK to hurt that human once that human have given up its own freedom & liberty when that human choose to "hurt" others.

(like traffik drug so a school kid gets addicted "exposed" by that drug he/she traffiked, now that kid went & kill himself / herself in that drug induced stupor... should that drug traffikker NOT DIE for causing another's death??? "Typical action reaction case"... & prevention is better than cure "& much more humane" is that "deterrent" from the POWER of that death sentence.)

See... that deterrent can very well discouraged that drug traffiker from stepping unto MY people's land, hence there will be "NO action" of drug exposed to tempt that kid (& children do do stupid stuffs sometimes), there will be "NO reaction" of the kid harming himself / herself in that way... so that PREVENTION of "drug exposure" possibillity" also means the humane way to cut down on the stupidity of drug traffikers coming into the country = CURE for out drug & social unrest potential problems.

Or even better...

CURE
= DISCOURAGE the drug traffikers
= less drug traffikers on death sentences
= saving even these morons drug traffikers' lives.

Isn't THAT in itself a great thing????

P.S. again... when an individual CHOOSES to "TRY" to flex & bend a law...
One usually can tell... which side the law THAT PERSON is on. NO???

WHICH SIDE???
Things that makes you go Hmmmm....????

You know the reason Singapore, Vietnam and other countries are not criticised by western countries.

Hong Kong doesn't have a death penalty, and they have a similar culture and demographic and they're just as safe as Singapore.

Some criminals really don't care if they live or die, so it might not be any skin off of their nose to kill someone. Please remember, this is a not an argument against gun ownership. I'm just telling it like it is. Corporal punishment would never work in the USA because we wouldn't allow it.
you don't think the authorities would pat them down before caning them? regardless, i thought it was done in a controlled environment, not on the spot.

I'm all for caning. reduces prison overcrowding and less money to support them in jail. singapore has this right.
