I personally love Filipino food, I had tapsilog earlier on today. I love mami soup and caldereta is one of my favorite dishes. There is quiet a few Filipino restaurants where I live.
And compared to other asian restaurants i like eating a Filipino restaurants because filipinos are freindly, I find other asians very rude.....Specially east asians. They only want white people pr other east asians eating at their establishments, so i rather spend my money else where.
I usually chew it and spit out the small bones, no need to scrape the meat off, easier to suck the meat off the bones, sometimes it may be a littler messy
lots of people eat chicken feets, pig's feets, duck feets, pig's tails, intestines, pig's ears, pig's snouts, etc
I saw a show on the food channel and they were cooking soul food and making soup with chicken feet
Mexican cooking also uses a lot of those parts
This isn't really unique to the above mentioned cuisines. Remember, human history have always dealt with scarcity/threat of starvation and the need to be resourceful with food preparation. This means making do with any ingredients available, cooking or processing lower quality ingredients so that they are palatable or tasty, using salt or drying of fresh foods to preserve them. Meat typically/historically is a luxury or treat so every part of the animal is used.
For example, soups/stews are really a way to use odds and ends/leftovers to make a meal. You use the toughest cuts of meat and simmer/cook them for a long time to make them soft enough to eat.
My only experience with Filipino food is that abomination known as Jollibee. I don't consider myself a picky eater but I couldn't even finish half of the disgusting glop they tried to pass off as 'food.' That being said I fully realize Jollibee is to Filipino food as McDonalds is to American food so I'm definitely still interested in trying the real thing one day.

Haha Jollibee. I had that in LA, didn't know it was Filipino at the time, but yeah, the burgers tasted really weird and not in a good way.
Filipino food? I thought it was American-style fast food.

I got two cheeseburgers - i remember I think the mayo was really salty, and the beef just tasted like it wasn't high quality beef, if indeed there was much beef in it at all. Also got some boba milk tea's which were a bit better but nothing great.
Don't forget the famous 'balut.' That thing gives me nightmare! Poor duck/chicken!
I enjoyed it when i was younger, but not really into it anymore. I believe depending on where you get it from....it doesn't always taste the same and how far along the embryo has developed. I would think the incubation period factors in quite a bit.
Filipino food is disgusting! It smells like rotten week old chinese food. Even filipinos don't eat their own food, preferring to eat chinese instead. Just go to Daly City and eat at best filipino places or the cheapest. They all taste bad.
Have you ever heard of filipino food winning any world-wide food competitions? It's always chinese, italian, french, japanese, thai.
Filipino food is even worse than British food.
