So what? Weren't sitcoms like Seinfeld, Friends, Cheers, The Office and umpteen others geared to white folks pretty formulaic?

The Office is hilarious! How dare you?!

Funny and well-written. I'm definitely not seeing how it is in anyway comparable to a Tyler Perry film.

I think you missed his point. I don't know if it applies to "The Office," but it definitely applies to sitcoms like "Seinfeld" and "Friends."

....Lets see; Own an apartment in NYC; the Village, Chelsea, Tribeca...ect' just to say I do. Go outside, trash in the streets and all the urban ills that make my skin crawl ?(and affirm my elitist attitude..lol) And it all costs me millions of dollars, that apartment. Or move to ATL where those same millions afford me a sprwling estate in the burbs, a very large urban masion in Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody....where I can host several exotic bikes and cars and let my kids play in the grass with the family dog. All the while not being attached to anyone elses walls/ceilings/floors. Hmm....inny,minny,miney,mo....lol

These claims crack me up but to each his own. I own in ATL, rent in NYC. But hey, thats just me.....

This isn't about what matter; I was just making a point. People were bringing up how great the living was in ATL, but the truth is celebrities follow the work and most rent in ATL and live elsewhere. Meaning; not all call ATL home.

No, it's not a claim. It's more of fact. Just listen these celebrities who you all "think" live in ATL. They rent in ATL because that's where the work is stationed, but live elsewhere. It's that simple. No need to take offense.

Wait Wait Wait.. Your sadly mistaken this is how it falls

Own property here

Lives Here

Rents here

There aren't that many celebs renting here because majority of the celebs we receive are here because of music. They come lay tracks and leave. The same stuff your sputing can be said about NY and LA. Most of them are in those places too because thats where the work is.

NT times said it best. Atlanta area is now home to such a critical mass of successful actors, rappers and entertainment executives. Paparazzi activity is at a minimum, but stars still get to feel like stars.

“They get the love and attention here like they wouldn’t get in New York,” said Kelley Carter, a pop culture journalist who has worked her share of rope lines and writes for publications like Ebony and Jet. She recently moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles herself.

It also doesn’t hurt that real estate here costs much less than in New York or Los Angeles.

“You can stretch a dollar more here,” said Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played Theo in “The Cosby Show” and has been in Atlanta shooting a new sitcom, “Reed Between the Lines,” for BET.

“Atlanta affords you a different kind of vibe,” he said. “A little more warmth

That what attracts them here They either love here are they consider this a second home

I bumped into Tony Braxton and her sisters, Tamar, Tamar's husband (some producer guy) in Nieman Marcus @ Discover Mills last Staurday. Tamar was nice (even though I do not consider her a celebrity). She was taking pics with folks (young girls, older women - black and white). They kept coming up to her commending her on the show. I was standing next to her in line.
