Downtown Alpharetta is coming along nicely.

Quote:
Mugs on Milton owners Jenn Newton and Gretchen Smith hope their latest addition to downtown Alpharetta will serve as a place that residents and visitors can make their new hangout spot while enjoying freshly brewed coffee, tea and baked goods.

“We want people to come in and just feel comfortable being here,” said Newton. “They can always expect to feel welcome. If we know your name, we will use it, and if you come in long enough and often enough, we will know who you are.”

Smith added, “Alpharetta’s really coming together and we really love the downtown and want to be part of the community. We just want let people come in and relax, have a good time, drink their coffee and hang out.”

Wow! The DeKalb Farmers market, which is already humongous, is about to quadruple in size.

Quote:
Across town, Your DeKalb Farmers Market, a grocery staple since opening in 1977, proposes to grow from its current 140,000-square-foot space -- about the size of a Walmart Supercenter -- into a 518,000-square-foot retail mammoth on Ponce de Leon Avenue just east of Decatur, according to plans filed with the county.

It also wants to build a 718,000-square-foot warehouse and add 2,600 parking spaces.
