Ive heard women in ATL say there are no "available men" in ATL and often are complacent with "sharing men" I have heard this from several heterosexual women who are professional doctors, lawyers, vets, etc. I have also had an ex boyfriend advise me not to move to ATL with the intent of having a positive dating experience due to a astronomical ration of women to men. My question for women of ATL is to weigh in on these comments and give your personal opinions of dating in Atlanta.

Just from being on the outside looking in it seems the odds (Down-low men, homosexuals, and ratio of women to men) are against us. Thanks.

Most southern woman are pressured to marry by 28. They are only active in the bar scene for 2-3 years. Any woman having problems is probably too old, since the straight men who are unmarried by 30 typically have issues and are undesirable.

It's all bull****. There are a ton of gays but also a ton of lesbians too. My girlfriend was hit on recently by two because she was wearing my flannel shirt. Don't believe the hype.

There may be a slight truth to it but on the east coast and south in general there are more women then men. If you are willing to date outside your race you will find more then enough men to keep your weekends and sheets busy.

That is absolute bull. Men don't have any incentive to be married before 30. If you got a good job and decent looks 30 is the time when you get the pick of the litter. Desperate women in there 30s will be chasing you and the cute ones in their 20s will love the fact that you are mature and have more money then the ones their age.

This post explains a lot. In general, the east coast and the south may better for men due to the numbers (in cities). The west and the southwest are better for women--especially if a black woman is willing to date outside of her race.

Atlanta: A great place for man to move to. Not so much for a black woman.

Most Single woman in their thirties would not be caught dead in an atlanta club, that is reality. Single men in their thirtees are frowned upon in the workplace, too. Thats been studied that single men are not promoted nor desired in corporate america.

Its a losing city for both men and woman who are single and over 30.

I'd love to see real statistics that prove this is a better place for men. All the one's I've seen show us a pretty even with a slight edge to women, but you gotta keep in mind most women live longer then men too.

Eligible white women and eligible white men may be more even.

However, eligible black women vs. eliglible black men--definitely skewed.
