It originally evolved from aggressive, drug-dealing rap music from Three 6 Mafia, Jeezy, and T.I.

If you want a better idea of what I'm talking about, watch those NOISEY Atlanta documentaries on Youtube.

Producers include Metro Boomin, Lex Luger, Zaytoven, TM88. I respect the producers. They are great. It's just that the beats are so imbalanced because they are accompanied by extremely wack rappers.
If you were referring to me, I very much know the difference. I just mentioned the type I like the most, but the non-edm variety is hot too.

for those of you who say you don't like trap, a lot of it sounds like jazz. that's the stuff i like, not the noisy stuff. just give this a try and tell me it's not smooth

I am not sure you would consider that Lean On song trap. It sounds closer to progressive house than anything.

I love Hopsin. That song pretty much sums my attitude of Future and all these rappers lol.

We have some good rappers that come from around here too though. Childish Gambino and Cyhi The Prince are from Stone Mountain.

The #1 hip hop song in the country now is basically universally understood to be a Future rip-off, so I'd say that trap music is pretty heavily influencing the entire music industry, it's far from just an Atlanta thing anymore.

He's from NY think Afrika bambaataa, RUN DMC, Kurtis Blow, whodini and etc. are lyrical lmao

And said TI isn't lyrical lmao.

Rapping itself started as hype men for DJ's. Which one of claim of fame to Rakim and Big Daddy Kane because they they was one the first rappers not to yell, before them rappers were actually yelling like Future and Lil Jon but with NY accent and simplistic 70's/80's flow. So it's ironic Future is more lyrical than Kurtis Blow and most early rappers.

hip hop did not become complex lyrically until late 80's and early 90's. With Rakim, Nas, Tribe, Wu a few others. Lyrism is the not basis of rapping it's a branch of hip hop that gain popularity later itself.

Bout time hip hop did started to become lyrical hip hop been spread to the south, West, and Midwest growing their own regional style that just as much rooted and an evaluation from the original Hip hop as New Yorkers 90's lyrical style was.

2 live crew started in Miami they popularize the "bass Music" Which popularize in New Orleans and Memphis but especially in Miami the birth place and Atlanta because of freaknik. Bass music is the pounding 808 bass and drum, and rolling hi hats basically the grandparent of Crunk, Bounce, and Trap music.

RT 808 was used in a lot of early hip hop, the lyrics were simple. Their flow was simple, their delivery was simple.

Again 80's and 90's bass music is grandparents of Crunk and Trap music. It took the 808 and added Rolling hi hat and snares.

Charisma, delivery are also important to rapping, like Basket ball so Some players are good with 3 pointers, other drunks. Not all rappers do or need to specialize in lyricism it that not their talented, And being lyrical doesn't give you the talent of being Charismatic and good delivery to make people dance.

And this the error a lot of New Yorkers have, A lot of stuff New Yokers made in the 90's besides a popular few was consider boring to Southerners during especially the late 90's. In the 90's Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Memphis, and New Orleans the south was really building up their own city and regional sound. And if it's wasn't lyricism that stood out, The South especially was really innovative of their voices, controlling their tones and melodies, using their accent adding soul and excite with their Bars.

This is bass music but the production is more complex "you see how this turn into trap 20 years later" the lyrics are simple but their delivery are more complex. listen to Luke and Trick daddy voice,

Crunk music is basically between Hip hop's garage and metal. Trap music is an electric evolving of crunk. which is also where that EDM's Trap comes from.

I like Trap music but I feel we at a point a lot of the artists aren't creative and just copying trends of another Trap artists which is another story. TI, Jezzy, Gucci Mane and etc are nothing a like there styles a hugely different. but a lot of current Trap rappers are sorta copying Future style.

A lot of non Atlanta rappers also bite Future or Migos style rappers from NY, Texas, Chicago and etc most assume they are from Atlanta. I think LA has more popular rappers right now and Atlanta is second. But Atlanta dominated productions. I think Toronto is probably which is weird.

Nah it back fire because Hopsin is consider a lame troll that no body take serious. He basically a poverty version of Tyler the creator but with out the talent and creativity.

What fail about that song.

1. besides the video is a much more a parody of Hip hop in general cause cars, money, girls is not a trap exclusive thing.

2. it's call ad libs, dude just made a video full of ad libs.

3. I willing to guess. he probably put a lot of work into that. Which is ironic to what he trying to pass off.

I hate that rappers are biting and because repetitive, I like that some artists are becoming weird.

I hope more artists become more alternative and rap about different topics.
