Within McDonough city proper (which is a municipal jurisdiction that is only about just under 13 square miles in land area), racial and ethnic minorities made up just over 76% of the population.

Within Henry County (much of which is covered by the 2 zip codes with a McDonough mailing address), racial and ethnic minorities made up just over 58% of the population.

Here are also the demographic breakdowns of some selected school clusters go within the McDonough mailing address...

At Union Grove High School, racial and ethnic minorities made up almost 53% of the student body as of October 1st, 2019.

At Ola High School, racial and ethnic minorities made up just over 35% of the student body as of October 1st, 2019.

At McDonough High School (formerly Henry County High School), racial and ethnic minorities made up almost 93% of the student body as of October 1st, 2019.

At Luella High School, racial and ethnic minorities made up almost 88% of the student body as of October 1st, 2019.
