Your death rate might be considered acceptable in the US, but it would never be considered acceptable here. The vast majority of us accept that restrictions are necessary to keep the death rate as low as possible.
Australia and New Zealand were outliers. Just look at places like Europe that also have a freedom of movement like the US - death rates are much more similar because these places are not isolated islands. Also, Australia may have gotten lucky last year as covid is showing that it cannot be controlled there anymore even with the draconian measures some of your states have had since June.

Way back at the beginning of this pandemic, around early April 2020, Australia actually had more Covid-19 cases (in raw numbers, not per capita) than the US. We were #17 on Worldometer's list at one point, when the US was #19 or 20. Our cases per million were higher than the US for a few weeks, until we managed to beat it back via international border closure and other restrictions.

So don't tell us we did well because we're an isolated island when back at the start we had more Covid-19 cases than you did!

So President Biden Hasn't issued a vaccine mandate for the country?

Not quite. Played golf this morning. Life's pretty good in the Soviet Union.

That is simply not true, the US had the same restrictions as here meanwhile you had democrat Politicians who initiated the most strict restrictions going on holiday while telling their own populace to remain at home. Nancy Pelosi even wanted to sue the Hairdresser who sent CCTV footage of her getting her hair done during a lock-down lol. If anything it only exposed more than ever how the elite look at the general population especially among the left where you have celebrities and politicians free to travel in and around the world while families were denied access to healthcare in different states or the ability to see dying loved ones. This happened in the US, Australia, Europe etc.

Australian states also have different restrictions, for example in WA where the border is hardest is also the state that had the most lax restrictions, there was no lock-down here, what they called a lock-down was merely what others would call restrictions, constructions sites, fast food stores all still open for business, it was actually a bit of a joke lol. Also there are ZERO restrictions here in WA, no mask mandates like what you have in the US and no restrictions of indoor or outdoor events. Just like the US, Australia varies from state to state

The US never had real lockdowns or border restrictions for citizens. There were capacity restrictions on businesses but people were never restricted to leave their houses. People have been going overseas the whole time with no quarantine when coming back.

Didn't California issue stay at home orders which is essentially a lock-down? People were only allowed to leave for essential work the same as here? Though in WA the term essential work was incredibly broad lol. Also you say there was no quarantine for people retuning from Covid hotspots? https://www.worldnomads.com/travel-s...-must-read-now

It is clear some states did have quarantine, even for domestic travellers

The quarantine and "stay at home" were never enforced. There were more like recommendations rather than mandates. Even not wearing a mask will not get you fined.
