Good God this thread has turned into a train wreck. LOL at the contention that a high percentage of Hondas are "riced out". Eddie notices them because, well, they are loud and noticeable. Of course he failed to notice the 30 Japanese cars all around him as he checks out the one that is loud enough to notice.
As for the thread itself I'll buy whatever damn car I want, especially when there is a very good chance the Toyota I am looking at was built by guys named Dave and Jim and they live in Cleveland.
I once worked with a character who claimed he wouldn't buy Levi jeans because they were made in Mexico. Later in the same conversation he said he wanted to retire in Mexico because it was cheaper to live.
Guess which car was named the most "American" car from 2009-12....... Toyota Camry.
Don't know if that's such a good thing as my dad's brand new Camry had to be towed to the dealer with a malfunctioning steering only a couple days after purchase.
Made the mistake of buying American once. Car died going over a speed bump in a parking lot.

Most hondas I've seen in my life have been riced out and I've been to a lot of places. I hear them all day long with those fart canon mufflers. I hear that annoying noise and lookup and what kinda of car is it...a honda.
no a small percentage of them are like that. Do you know how many Hondas are in this country? Ive got a 04 Civic Si with stock exhaust....how is this possible?
I will buy the car I want and like and that is right for me. I do not car what country the car is made in. If American car owners want americans to buy their cars then they might want to make their cars competitive with foreign cars.

And yes I notice all the gm trucks suvs and cars when I look up and see these hondas gm cars and trucks are everywhere

I'm not a fan of the "ricer" look.
But if I want to be fair about it, I don't think it's really any worse than the plethora of cars on the streets in the 1970s and '80s that were jacked up via leaf spring shackles or air shocks so they could sport rear tires that stuck out of the wheelwells by an inch or more. Not to mention the shag carpet on the rear shelf, surface-mount Pioneer TS-X7 speakers (usually driven by a discount-store Sparkomatic deck), Playboy air freshener hanging from the rear-view mirror, and the Cherry Bomb/Accel/Edlebrock/Holley stickers that added 10 HP each.
I was a part of that trend, and while it was a lot of fun at the time I have admit that it was probably just as annoying to those outside the trend as the ricers are today.
Lol not sure if you know this but Audi used to be a big pile of steaming crap of a vehicle in the 80s early 90s. Besides they weren't really popular either. If anything they were worse than GM and I'm being nice. They were really unreliable. My GF mom had one and it was ALWAYS broken down. They didn't get better or noticed till the TT came out. Then all of the sudden they got popular.
So your point is what? Audi improved their cars tremendously and GM didn't? Please tell me the car that can compete with an A4 AWD car that gets 30mpg, handles well and can be purchased with a manual tranny.
There are no cars made in the US that are perfect for my lifestyle. American cars are more geared to people that like floating living rooms with a pile of cup holders and big bulky things stuck to the side of them. They are made for obese people for the most part. Look at the giant SUV market in the US. Talk about a bunch of junk. Top heavy vehicles that can't handle well at all and just plow into any accident that is in front of them killing whatever is in its way. Once you become a real driver, you can't drive American cars. They just aren't made for driving, they are made for going to and from McDonalds with all their big cup holders and clumsy everything. One of my favorite things is the automatic door closers like on the back of these giant SUVs. That is all Americans need is more automatic stuff because they are so lazy, they can't even shut a door. Just wow!
