I support my country whenever possible and buy american made products. I will never own a foreign car EVER. I am a loyal GM owner until I can no longer drive which is a LONG time from now. I don't care about the bailout and all that I can't control that. I own an older 1997 chevy tahoe and they are everywhere still on the road. I go to the salvage yard to find some interior parts and there is only 4 trucks in 20+ acres of vehicles...that tells you something. Funny that the foreign cars make up the bulk of the junk cars in the yard.

Not really. Scrap metal has been high the last few years, so many salvage yards are pulling the premium parts off of vehicles and scrapping the shells. Because trucks weigh more than cars and take up more space in the yard they're naturally more likely to be crushed first.

GM sure treated American buyers well with their safety defects that caused 13 deaths already. And has been occurring for ten years. They finally recalled 1M+ vehicles.

You say you can't control the bailout. But GM could have avoided needing it if they had built better vehicles. That's the way it should work. Build a bad product - go out of business.

Texas and who cares if you are trying to say american cars/trucks aren't 100% U.S.A made well duhh even a kid knows that. Nothing has ever been 100% U.S made for for many many decades. As long as most of the vehicle is made here that is all i care about.

"General Motors led global vehicle sales for 77 consecutive years from 1931 through 2007" Wikipedia.

Yep GM builds bad products

Blackberry also was the leader in smartphones for a long time. Nothing lasts forever. When was the last time you bought Kodak film?

GM isn't going away anytime soon. But there are good reasons its dominance is no longer assured.

Yep nothing lasts forever not even foreign cars. I believe the reason why GM is not the leader anymore is because they aren't targeting the younger buyers very well not because they make bad products. 20 year olds are not interested in buicks and cadillacs they like Hondas so they can rice them out. It's ok GM doesn't have to be #1 in sales they just need to be #1 to me. If they ever completely go there are tons of used vehicles on the run to last me until i kick the bucket I only buy used anyway.

Yes, everyone who buys a Honda buys them solely to rice them out. Do you think maybe most people like a proven car that is one of the most reliable on the road, gets great gas mileage, cheap to repair, cheap to insure, and relatively cheap to buy? No, no, no....it couldnt possibly have anything to do with that.
