People don’t put on exhaust on their vehicles like the did in the 70’s you don’t see cars with glass packs or headers, or cherry bomb or thrsh mufflers. When these young kids put these cans on their rice burners they sound like a blender that’s out of control. Vehicles today with exception to the charger and challenger and the camero and the Mustang sound ridiculous if they had those type of exhaust.

I don't think any inline 6 comes stock with "true" duals, but, you can definitely get "split" headers that dump into 2 exhaust flanges. It's up to the installer if they want to Y-pipe them back into a single exhaust pipe, or go all the way back with 2 separate pipes.

6=8 CATALOG

Offhand unless (I am talking Detroit inline 6's here) you have modded the motor pretty extensively, a larger single exhaust pipe, like about 2.5 inch, with a good free flowing muffler, should breathe fine and would weigh less than 2 independent pipes.

And your point is? We’re talking cars not bikes.

You most certainly can. You can even make a V8 sound like a 6 cylinder. Nascar was doing this 50 years ago.

Wull, yes it can. Sounds better than a V6.

Well, none of the top car makers sell straight 6 gas engines anymore. Maybe some foreign company I have never heard of, but nothing sold in the US, has a straight 6 gas.

Have you ever heard of a company called BMW. They still crank out the straight 6's.
