You most certainly can. You can even make a V8 sound like a 6 cylinder. Nascar was doing this 50 years ago.
You can’t have true dual exhaust on a straight 6 it only has one exhaust manifold it’s not like a V6 we’re y have 2 cylinder heads. You can put a cheater y pipe on a straight 6 then run 2 mufflers that way but it’s still only a single exhaust. But you can take off the stock exhaust manifold and put on one we’re 2 sets of headers are welded on, but stock I6 are single exhaust, this discussion was about stock I6 engines not modified, you can modify anything on a vehicle but the average person on this forum can’t do those type of modifications. So bringing up things like that is not what people want to know.
That’s a sports car not a typical I6 and not an American made and again that’s a different exhaust manifold than the typical I6 manifold. You can probably find other European also but your not talking American cast iron I6 like the Ford 4.9 I6.

And sure you can make a V8 sound like a V6 with tuned exhaust but why would NASCAR do that you loose power.
I have dual exhaust on my 09 BMW 335i twin turbo i6.... first three cylinders are bank 1 and last 3 cylinders are bank two... each turbo runs off of its designated bank of cylinders exhaust and has it’s own exhaust manifold... bank 1 (cylinders 1-3) power the front turbo and bank 2 (cylinders 4-6) powers the rear turbo, each turbo routes it’s exhaust through it’s own pipes, cats, mufflers/resonators and out...the exhaust note is noticeably different than that of any v6

That’s a European car not a American straight 6 I don’t know or care to know about European vehicles since I will never own one.
Then thread title is "Best and worst sounding 6 cyl engines/exhaust?"
No mention of what they're in.
And your point is?
BTW, NO mention of country of manufacture either.
My point is i guess I’m a lot older than most on here because you all think the sound coming from a 6 banger is cool because most on here never had a V8 and the sound they make with a good set of headers, next you will be taking about the cool sound of a 4 banger lol lol.
Also how many on here have owned an American I6 vehicle I’ve had a couple a Ford and a Dodge.
Have you ever heard of a company called BMW. They still crank out the straight 6's.
Well, duh! I live less than 20 miles from the SC plant!! Thanks for the education, I didn't know they still made straight 6s. Im sure they are no where near the size of the classic 6s made in reference here.
