I'm still in the process of getting a drivers license but I usually prefer SUVs and trucks over sedans because I like sitting up higher. Anyone else?

that kind of depends on my mood at the time. i like trucks, but i tend to prefer my trucks to be lowered these days, easier for me to get into them.

by the way, i took my driving test for my license in a 67 chevy pick up way back in 1976.

Its more than the vehicle height that plays into my preference. I prefer a small SUV (no desire or need for some ego-mobile behemoth) because it is more of a multi-functional vehicle for a one person household. I need climate-controlled interior cargo space to haul pets, not people, higher ground clearance for snow, muddy ruts, and gravel, higher step in height, better overall visibility (rejecting those SUVs that are shaped like bugs with little to none), I want better traction control options, larger wheels/tires, and a sturdier build. A truck doesn't give me some of those things and most sedans even less.

Generally, the ride quality is more comfortable in a sedan. Sedans have a low ride height compared to SUVs..

I drive a pickup, but I use it to tow, in addition to the usual truck stuff. I'm 6' 2", so it's also a better fit for me. I don't ever see myself getting another sedan.

Same here, seems my pick-up is much less of a stress to drive, holds the road better, really more comfortable. In addition, never a problem with storage, very few things that you might buy that you cannot haul home. One of the best things we ever did in dumping our mini van for our 4 door pick-up. Years before we dumped the thought of a sedan for a mini-van, no way would I make two steps back.

I actually like station wagons best but slim pickings these days. I have a 2008 Audi Avant which I really like.

I drive a suv but I’ve had a couple of pickups i like the room in these vehicles, sedans are to cramped for me and living in Michigan a suv or a pickup with AWD or 4x4 is really nice in a Michigan winter. I’v been driving since i was 15 in 1970 and have driven just about every type of vehicle out there. But like I tell people it’s your decision get what you want.

Not just what you like to drive, but your lifestyle can dictate what you will have. Me, and most others, had several to cover everything you like to do.

I have never owned a sedan and the 2 cars that I have have been 2 seater sports cars. I much prefer trucks, JeePs and even had a van once. Today my wife and I have a F150 2 JeePs and my replica Cobra.

Sedans are certainly comfortable cars to cruise in. A friend has owned several over the years and I will never forget his huge Impala with the 350 engine. That boat had some big get up and go. He now drives a supercharged Audi.

I don't know OP. If you like cars get a car, if you like SUV's get one of those, if you like trucks then you know what I'm gonna say. Whatever you choose it should lend itself to your lifestyle. I like boating, kayaking, biking and camping so having a truck makes sense for me plus I use it to haul firewood, tools and building supplies.
