Whatever the reason.... paying max dollars to a guy that you don't necessarily depend too much on, and won 60+ in spite of him missing chucks of the season, tells me it was a bad investment. Just my 2 cents...they could have started Taj Gibson in place of him and gotten pretty close to the same results...And Taj to me seems to fit more into the defensive scheme of things compared to Boozer. But then, Chicago wasn't the only team that overspent.... Joe Johnson's deal with Atlanta is equally as ridiculous.

Yeah, I watched probably 60ish bulls games this year and saw/read highlights/box score of every game and Boozer has been a let down so far, which has been mostly over shadowed by Rose's exceptional play. I also think Noah has been a lesser factor this year as well though, and part of that "blame" has to go with D Rose dominating night in and night out. The guys that have truly bloomed with Rose are guys like Deng and Bogans who are wing players that are wide open when the lane collapses on Rose.

Jury is still out with how a legit big man fits with a player like Derrick - and I don't think there are any fair comparisons. Everyone uses phrases like "a smarter Iverson," but that stops at both being PGs who can score. The next 3-5 seasons will be fascinating in Chicago (as long as we actually have the NBA).

Gilbert Arenas is a shell of his former self. Not sure if he is gonna retire when his contract ends. He might still have something left, but it could take another couple years before his knees return to normal, if ever.

Btw, there have been reports that the Magic would probably trade Howard this summer assuming he wants to bolt out of Orlando which is very likely. Reports have him going to either Lakers or Nets.

I been watching long enough to know that if thr 1 seed team don't tae away the confidence of the 8 seed team, then the 8 seed team gains confidence and believes they can the win the series. I seen it happen 3 times

1994 8th seeded Nuggets knock off Sonics

1999 8th seeded Knicks knock off Heat

2006 8th seeded Warriors knock off Mavs

Yeah, the Pacers should be just bursting with confidence after raining in 3's like crazy and then getting beat down in the 4th quarter.

Yeah, but remember....Boozer had some decent success in Utah and is still fitting into the system etc. AND let's not forget that he may not even really be 100% due to the injury. (Perhaps he has lost a little bit and he will never get it back like Kirilenko, Brand and many many others)

So, with those things said I am going to wait and see how he looks next year before getting too amped up that he is a big mistake.

However, many of you are making excellent points about how free agency can really be supply and demand and sometimes guys go for more than fair value. This upcoming free agency with the knicks and heat and others needing some size in the paint will get very very interesting and lucrative for some guys.

I'm not a fan of the Bulls or the Pacers, so here's the opinion of someone who has no connection to either:

I, too, am a little confused by people saying the Pacers will take them to 6. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get swept after this loss. Indy played the best game they could EVER hope to play, and the Bulls played a very disappointing game, and the Bulls still won. Not to mention, that loss is deflating. How pumped will Indy be at home when they're down 0-2 knowing they pooched one? A young, inexperienced team probably doesn't recover.

I could be wrong, of course. Maybe Indy thinks they can play with these guys, but truthfully, when you look at the box score, your first conclusion HAS to be that the close loss was an aberration.

Indy completely pooched it and I don't think they recover. Maybe they win 1.
