Now, Im leaning toward Duncan over Shaq, especially if he wins ring no. 5. There's already a case to be made, Shaqs sheer dominance in his prime puts him over the top, but for longevity it's just as valid to say Duncan should be ranked over him.
I would actually place Tim higher than Larry Bird on this list. Even though Bird had a tremendous career with the Celtics and was very good in the playoffs Tim Duncan has won four Championships with essentially four different teams lineup wise. This imo trumps Bird's three Titles and shorter career. Ultimately I've got Tim in the top five of any NBA greats list.
Being pumped doesn't always equate to winning though. Vegas is only giving the Thunder -3 for game 3. That's not much respect at home for a very good team. Having said that the pressure for the Thunder to actually beat San Antonio will be beyond enormous tomorrow night. Which is why IMO they will fail in the end. The Thunder have of course proved that they can win a close game but not against a team of the caliber of the Spurs. And yes I also see an exciting race to the finish for tomorrow's game 3 with San Antonio coming out on top.
Based on what I saw in both games in San Antonio I strongly believe that the Thunder win the game tonight by 17 points but the Spurs rebound in Game 4 and go back home with a 3-1 lead. Tonight's game has a win written all over it for the Thunder.
they where "scary good" and put up great numbers BUT the3 of them showed they cant gut out the win themselves. they need help from elsewhere, or they need the spurs to beat themselves which doesnt happen often. game one the spurs tried to beat themselves, i wouldnt expect that to happen again. the thunder need one or 2 more guys to truly contribute, but they showed their true colors in game 2.

San Antonio's average margin of victory during the streak has been large and they have only very rarely ended up in close games during the streak. The chances of OKC winning by 17+ are next to nil. It is also very unlikely that the OKC big three will score that much again in this series.

I like your prediction for Game 4 but we will see what happens. Usually the first game of the team who doesn't have the HCA is always a rout so that's what I expect because of those crazy OKC fans which will energized the players.

Was it the 1996 Bulls that went 72-6 in the regular season before winning the Championship? That team has to be up there amongst the goat's. But yes, in answer to your question this team will have to be considered one of the greatest playoff teams of all time if they sweep the entire playoffs. I think ultimately they will drop one each against OKC and Miami and go 16-2 but that will still place San Antonio amongst the goat's.

I don't know that GOAT would be right. I still put the 72-10 bulls as the GOAT but this team would be 2nd easy. I also can't see 16-0 barring injury to the other teams biggest star, and then everyone will throw * next to the record

That 72-10 Bulls team lost Game 3 of the second round and only had to win 3 games in the first round. I would still put the Spurs over that team if they go 16-0.
