That's basically the same issue in Minneapolis, but Counting the U of M there's at least 6 rinks in that City itself and double that if you include St Paul
That's not true, BU alone has 2 rinks.
The DCR has 9 Rinks in Boston.
Ice Skating
Then there are a bunch of private ones.
BU owns 2, BC (+BC high) owns 2, UMass Boston has 1, Northeastern has 1, the Bruins have 1 (TD Garden doesn't count) Harvard has 1.
So there are plenty of rinks in Boston.

Are you counting seasonal outdoor rinks too though?
I meant only indoor rinks.
Just looked it up, glad I'm wrong. Blame Google though

Wow...this Celtics mania leading up to the draft has been overwhelming. Wall to wall Celtics talk on the sports stations all week, and draft day is still two days away.

I'm a hockey fan, not Celtics. The NHL draft AND expansion draft is this week too but you'd never know it because of the Celtics' promising future and their plethora of first round picks in the next few years. It shows just how irrelevant the Bruins are again versus the Celtics.

It'll be interesting to see their TV ratings comparison next year.

The NBA just had its highest rated Finals since 1988, and it only went five games this year, not seven like last year -- but the ratings this year still beat last year. Yes, local TV ratings were down this year for many teams in the regular season, though. Yet, NBA haters seem to always say it's a dying sport.

The Bruins have no chance versus the Celtics in the next 5-10 years in regards to popularity.

This Celtics wave for the next decade will have Boston sports fans feeling even more smug and arrogant, if that's possible.

The issue with the NBA is that it's so predictable. Of course the Golden State worriers will make the finals, they have every year for a while. Same with LeBron.

The NHL draft and MLB draft always are less of a spectical cause most guys go to the minors for a couple years.
Like the Sox are 2x as popular as the Celts and you didn't hear aperitif about the MLB draft.

Not gonna believe the Celtics hype until players actually sign. I remember last year people were convinced Kevin Durant was gonna sign with the Celtics; Tom Brady met with him after all!

I still don't see lots and lots of Celtics attire on local folks during my day. Same with the Bruins. It's all Sox and Pats. Yes, more than before in the last few months, but it may take a big signing and/or a Finals appearance next year to truly notice a major uptick in their popularity.

Even Michael Felger, a 98.5 fm The Sports Hub personality (and more of a hockey fan than NBA) again said last week that the C's regular season tv ratings should have been much higher the past couple of years.

Just heard in Felger and Max Bruins are still more popular than the Celtics 13% vs 10% as peoples #1 team. Despite the fact Jermey Jacobs has lower approval than Kraft... as the Revs owner.
