I can recall when I was young my parents taking us to Balo's for the roast beef and my mom taking wax paper and taking half of the beef off the sandwich and taking it home for another sandwich. I truely miss peanut sticks Costanzo's use to have them until a year or so ago.
Don't like the peanut sticks but will keep the beef!
cars on Main Street
shopping on Main Street
The Thruway Mall (technically it was in Cheektowaga, but we'd bike-ride the 3 miles from Buffalo). The same for Gold Circle & Twin Fair of which we'd travel to for shopping at.
I miss milk machines on every corner
The Courier Express newspaper.
I miss the "Buffalo Evening News" (a newspaper that was delivered later in the day. Today is "yesterday's headlines" in the Buffalo News).
I miss a new 45 record bought at Cavages (See: Thruway Mall).
Feel free at any time to chime in and share what you miss "in Buffalo"
I miss "free lunches" & swimming at Schiller Park.
Yeah the news is waaay better in the evening. Mornings good, but if something happens at noon. itll be in the evening edition.
I'll second a lot of the things mentioned here, but one thing long gone that I miss is this little bakery in North Tonawanda run by these 2 old Polish ladies, that we used to frequent when I was a kid. They made some good stuff!
And speaking of Polish stuff, hearing polka on the radio!

A few months ago I did a photo shoot with the 3-time-nominated Jerry Darlack and the Touch. It was their first showing at Sportsman's after the Grammy's.
OMG! yes! My mom use to take us there when we were little.
Now you are dating yourself! Do you know the address? I think the building is still standing, but I was so small when I used to go there with my Grandmother that I don't remember if this is the place:
I remember rows and rows of toys- boxed and also loose where you could by individual pieces like plastic army soldiers. Good memories.
